Payroll/HR Assistant - Bakersfield

Position Description:
American General Media Corporate Office located in Bakersfield, CA area has a current opening
for a full-time, non-exempt position as Payroll/HR Assistant.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing time cards to ensure company is adhering to all state/federal compliance requirements.
  • Reviewing uploaded payroll information in Quickbooks for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviewing all payroll forms to ensure all are completed and signed. Contacting supervisors regarding any missing information as needed.
  • Updating employee information as needed.
  • Processing new hire/termination data entry.
  • Maintaining EEO public file by reviewing paperwork received from multiple locations and ensuring all is complete and correct.
  • Preparing reports for 401k company.
  • Filing, scanning and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Will work closely with the Payroll and HR Department Heads to assist in any tasks they may need.

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with in-house payroll processing
  • Knowledge of current payroll laws
  • Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel
  • Accuracy and organizational skills essential
  • Quickbooks Enterprise experience a plus
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to mutli-task
  • Possess excellent time management skills
